Podcast Feature: The Horror Show with Brian Keene

July 10, 2020      Erica Robyn      7 Comments

The Horror Show with Brian Keene is a show that should definitely be on your radar if you’re a horror fan! I’m a very new listener, but I’m already a huge fan. I can’t believe it took me this long to subscribe!

This podcast was put on my radar thanks to The Book Dad (thanks again, Andrew!). Since then, I have binged through dozens of episodes and I have absolutely loved each of them!

Let’s dive in!

My Thoughts on The Horror Show with Brian Keene

This is another amazing podcast with a killer intro! I love the musical introduction and how it makes me feel super pumped up before diving into the discussion.

Here’s the main crew:

Brian Keene – He is such an awesome podcast host! He’s so upbeat and he’s such a great speaker. I NEED to read some of his work soon. I have Blood On The Page sitting in my TBR stack that’s screaming at me to get into it!

Dave Thomas – I find myself nodding along a lot when I’m listening to Dave speak. I also share his hatred of going to the grocery store!

Matt Wildasin – Matt hits my funny bone. He’s got these quick one liners that absolutely crack me up.

Mary SanGiovanni – I love Mary! Her laugh never fails to make me smile or chuckle along with her. I recently read her book titled Chills and absolutely loved it!

Of course, each of these people have absolutely wonderful banter with one another. I really enjoy listening to each of them and I love seeing what their opinions are on certain things. I am so proud of all of them for not shying away from the very difficult topics.

However, with the last couple of situations, it was very clear how much it affected them just from the tones of their voices. It was obvious even before they laid it all out to the listeners. Brian Keene made a statement that things will need to change moving forward if he’s going to continue. I absolutely do not blame him for that and I hope that if they continue, whatever change they make makes this show much easier for them, and much more fun.

But back to my raving!

I always love hearing interviews with authors that I love. When I first checked the show out, I immediately downloaded the episodes featuring authors that I love. These authors included:

  • Grady Hendrix
  • Samantha Kolesnik
  • Joe Hill & Christopher Golden
  • Somer Canon
  • Stephen Kozeniewski
  • Wesley Southard
  • Jonathan Janz
  • Bracken MacLeod
  • Paul Tremblay
  • Wile E Young

There are SO many more interviews available as well! I will definitely be checking back in whenever I find a new-to-me author to see if this crew has interviewed them yet!

Thanks for reading!
And don’t forget to subscribe on Spotify, iTunes, or on your favorite podcast platform! To follow along on social, check out the Facebook page or follow them on Twitter. And to learn more, check out Brian Keene’s Website.

Sounds like a great podcast. I’d love the interview with Joe Hill I’m sure.

I originally learned who he was after seeing him participate in the KillerCon 2020 Virtual Event. I went to follow him and his publishing house, Perpetual Motion Machine (that he runs with Lori Michelle), immediately after his reading.

Within the PMM publishing house, they also have the imprint, Ghoulish Books, which launched in January of 2022. Max’s latest book, Maggots Screaming!, launched today April 12th, 2022 from that imprint. In celebration, I’m so excited to be sharing this interview with Max!

Diaries of the Damned by Ivan Radev is a collectio Diaries of the Damned by Ivan Radev is a collection of tales that span numerous dark fears. But as always, even in the darkness, there’s a bit of light.

In the foreword, the author warns that this is a book of fears, and boy does he play on fears wonderfully! Each tale is presented to readers in the first person to really get readers in the characters shoes. Please use caution here when you dive in. The author does not shy away from the darkness.

Phew, this read will take readers on quite the journey! It was the perfect read for a dark and rainy spring weekend.
