[Book Blogger Hop] Listening To Music While Writing Reviews

December 14, 2018      Erica Robyn      22 Comments

Book Blogger Hop

Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer, where you answer a question and join a “hop”. The purpose is to help bloggers discover and get to know one another.

For this week’s question, Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer asked:
Do you listen to music while you are writing your blog posts? If so, what genre of music do you listen to?

My answer:
Sometimes I will listen to music while writing up a review. My musical taste is all over the place! When listening to shuffle on my iTunes, it can go from classical to metal; friends have joked that my shuffle has given them mental whiplash. My favorite genres include punk, rock, and metal, but I also listen to a lot of pop and country.

I’ll also listen to podcasts at times when I am working on my blog. Like as I am typing up this blog hop, I’m listening to the ID10T podcast hosted by Chris Hardwick, and the guest is Elizabeth Reaser!

Occasionally, I will need to turn everything off and just focus on the review.

Thanks for reading!
Do you listen to anything while you write reviews?

I just got myself a pair of nice Bose headphones… it’s a game changer for listening to music while working!

I'll listen to anything that doesn't have lyrics, so I don't get distracted. Movie and game soundtracks are my usual go-tos 🙂

I don't 🙂 I prefer having on a Youtube video in the background or I listen to podcasts. But never music. https://latteandabook.blogspot.com

I don't listen to music while I'm blogging as my sterio is in my bedroom and the computer is downstairs! I tend to have the tv on with a favourite film, sport or news in the background but sometimes I don't bother at all.

Sometimes I'll listen to an audiobook when I'm writing a blog post or music. I've been told the same thing about whiplash when I put my music on shuffle. 🙂

Sound doesn't really bother me when I'm reading or writing reviews, but I don't necessarily do it on purpose. It's usually just that the TV is on or something. lol

I originally learned who he was after seeing him participate in the KillerCon 2020 Virtual Event. I went to follow him and his publishing house, Perpetual Motion Machine (that he runs with Lori Michelle), immediately after his reading.

Within the PMM publishing house, they also have the imprint, Ghoulish Books, which launched in January of 2022. Max’s latest book, Maggots Screaming!, launched today April 12th, 2022 from that imprint. In celebration, I’m so excited to be sharing this interview with Max!

Diaries of the Damned by Ivan Radev is a collectio Diaries of the Damned by Ivan Radev is a collection of tales that span numerous dark fears. But as always, even in the darkness, there’s a bit of light.

In the foreword, the author warns that this is a book of fears, and boy does he play on fears wonderfully! Each tale is presented to readers in the first person to really get readers in the characters shoes. Please use caution here when you dive in. The author does not shy away from the darkness.

Phew, this read will take readers on quite the journey! It was the perfect read for a dark and rainy spring weekend.
