The Sunshine Blogger Award

The Sunshine Blogger Award

Shout out to JJ of This Dark Material for nominating me for the Sunshine Blogger Award! I’m so excited to be taking part in this and I absolutely loved all of her questions!

Let’s dive in!

The Sunshine Blogger Award

The Rules:

  • Thank the person who nominated you in a blog post and link back to their blog.
  • Answer the 11 questions sent by the person who nominated you.
  • Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
  • List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.

The questions I was asked:

1. You have the opportunity to ask your favorite author one question, and they have to tell the truth. Which author do you choose and what do you ask them?
Michael Crichton. My question would be, were there ever alternative endings to any of your books that you almost used rather than the endings that were published?

2. What is one book you hid from your parents when you were younger?
Oh! What an interesting question! I don’t believe I ever hid a book from my parents. They were always super cool about whatever I wanted to read.

3. If you could try the cuisine of any fictional world, which one would you choose?
ANY of the pastries and sugary treats from the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, for sure!

4. Who is your favorite fictional detective?
I’ve been loving Aaron Falk from the series by Jane Harper.

5. Which Winnie the Pooh character are you most similar to?
Ha! What a great question. I used to think I was a lot like Eeyore, especially in high school. Now I’m more like Pooh; bring on all the snacks! I’m also far too trusting of everyone.

6. What ‘accessories’ do you need with you when you read (drink, blanket, music, etc.)?
A cup of tea, tab-style sticky notes, and a comfy seat.

7. What is one book you read just because you liked the cover?
Bonfire by Krysten Ritter.

8. Which fictional character do you wish would “write” a memoir?
Oh my goodness. I’ve been typing out names and backspacing to replace the name over and over. I think I will finally go with Emma Bloom from the Miss Peregrine’s Peculiar Children series. I think it would be so interesting to learn more about their world before the loop was formed as well as the first couple of years inside the loop.

9. What is your favorite animated movie not made by Disney?
Kubo and the Two Strings! If you haven’t seen this one yet, go check it out immediately!!

10. Pencil or pen?
Pen, for some reason I feel like my handwriting looks extra sloppy in pencil.

11. Polka dots or stripes?
Stripes! I’m a total sucker for stripes 🙂

Bloggers I nominate:

  1. Abby of Abby’s Reading Corner
  2. Aj Sterkel of Read All The Things!
  3. Amber Elise of Du Livre
  4. Amy of A Magical World of Words
  5. Angela of Musings of a Literary Wanderer
  6. Esther of Bite Into Books
  7. Gabriella of Gabriella M Reads
  8. Grace Trowel of Books Without Any Pictures
  9. Heather of Heather’s Reading Hideaway
  10. Kati of Kati’s Bookaholic Rambling Reviews
  11. Sassy of Alternative Read

My questions for the nominees are as follows:

  1. What blog post from 2018 so far do you wish had gotten more love?
  2. How did you come up with your blog name?
  3. What is your favorite type of blog post to read (reviews, discussions, etc.)?
  4. What are your favorite genres?
  5. What item do you use for a bookmark most frequently (actual bookmarks, sticky notes, receipts, etc)?
  6. Where is your favorite reading spot?
  7. What are your biggest turn-offs about a book?
  8. What was the last five star book you read?
  9. What was the last book you DNFed (or gave a one star rating if you don’t DNF)?
  10. Are you a member of any bookish clubs/groups?
  11. What are some really inspiring books that you have read?

Thanks for reading!

I love all your answers…and your new questions, too!! I haven't seen Kubo yet, but I've heard a lot of good things, so I'll have to add it to my Netflix queue 🙂 I'm going to check out Jane Harper's books too; I'm always looking for more detective novels to try!

I think I'm a mixture of all of the Winnie the Pooh characters, but if I had to pick one… Probably Tigger. I am often bouncing off the walls when I'm with other people. Lol. Wonderful post and thank you again for nominating me.

Diaries of the Damned by Ivan Radev is a collectio Diaries of the Damned by Ivan Radev is a collection of tales that span numerous dark fears. But as always, even in the darkness, there’s a bit of light.

In the foreword, the author warns that this is a book of fears, and boy does he play on fears wonderfully! Each tale is presented to readers in the first person to really get readers in the characters shoes. Please use caution here when you dive in. The author does not shy away from the darkness.

Phew, this read will take readers on quite the journey! It was the perfect read for a dark and rainy spring weekend.
