Blog Updates- Bookstagram & New Logo!

Blog announcements for Erica Robyn Reads

Hey everyone! I’m so excited for these two announcements this morning.

So let’s dive right in!

Bookstagram

Well, I finally took the leap!

After over a year of debating it, and constantly going back and forth… I finally set up an Instagram account just for books and book-related posts.

Don’t worry, I’m sure I will still be sharing book photos on my personal account as well. But for those of you that enjoy book-only content, feel free to give my new account a follow!

New Logo

AH! This announcement I’m literally bouncing around in my chair as I type this because I am SO pumped about it!

This morning, I had just told my husband Alex that I really need to budget for a new logo design. With the new house, and all those related purchasing needs and projects, our budget for extras is non-existent.

Then the darnedest thing happened… Not even 5 minutes later, I got a message through my new bookstagram account from a fellow book-lover, Megan Del Rio, welcoming me to the bookish community. Then she said, “I make logos (for fun) and I was wondering how offended you’d be if I told you I made you one while I had breakfast this morning.” Followed by cute emojis.

WHAT TIMING!

I was so shocked and pumped. And the logo she created… was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT.

My old logo:

This is something that I made using photoshop back when I first started posting about books. I never loved it… I kept trying to do various logo designs on my own, but ended up sticking with this one as the others just weren’t great either.

AND THE NEW LOGO:

WHAT?!?!

This new logo is so perfect and so spot on for my brand. I’m OBSESSED.

Not only is her design work incredible, she also posts lovely bookish photos. Please give Megan Del Rio some love on her accounts! 🙂

Your new logo looks so good and I can imagine you being happy! I can imagine that it feels like you just tipped a coin in a wishing well and “pop” there is your genie from the bottle!

I love following your personal account on Instagram as well, feels like I get to know you a bit better, but I think it’s so cool that you decided to start your own Bookstagram! I will check it out 🙂

<3 100%! It was so crazy and so perfect!! And thank you! I also love when bloggers post personal stuff as well, but I also get why some people prefer to follow just the books :)

That’s a really good logo actually and a good fit for you! Perfect timing as well. I’m spending my time blogging ahead at the moment to give myself more time off the computer next month as I had no time to myself last year with so many blog posts to do! I’ve done the TTT posts up to January and getting ahead in my Books From The Backlog too. That lets me just do my weekend posts, yearly roundup posts, book tags and reviews next month.

Thank you! And right?! It’s so spot on!! Oh that’s a great idea! I need to work on doing that as well. Most of my posts this year were posted the day I wrote them, and that gets exhausting!

My Insta is a mix of real life/personal and bookish photos, but it works. That’s great you started your own Bookstagram account though and omg, I LOVE the new logo!

Thank you! <3 Yeah, Instagram is a tricky one! I had everything on my personal account, but that was just too much. I'm glad I've finally split it out but I've been posting like crazy trying to get my account caught up! lol
