Following the Dead Tracks by Aiden Merchant Book Photo By Erica Robyn Reads

Following the Dead Tracks by Aiden Merchant is such an atmospheric and heartwarming tale!

Full Disclosure: I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. This did not affect my rating in any way.

Let’s dive into this very quick review!

My Thoughts on Following the Dead Tracks by Aiden Merchant

When Ben is invited to go for a walk on the Dead Tracks with his new boyfriend, Kyle, Ben is excited to see why Kyle goes for this midnight walk every week. Once they get to the tracks, Ben gets nervous, thinking that this is some kind of set up… But what he’s about to see will shock him more than a silly jump-scare.

Oh my goodness. This story was wonderful! It begins like a totally normal YA tale, but once we’re on the tracks, the upbeat atmosphere suddenly turns dark and worrisome…

I absolutely loved the flow of the story and I thought that the two characters were wonderful. What a great first read for me from Mr. Merchant! I cannot wait to dive into more.

Thanks for reading!
And if you check this one out, make sure to stay tuned! In the authors note, Aiden Merchant mentions that he is going to continue this story in a longer form. I CANNOT WAIT! I’m so here for that!

I really like the sound of this! I don’t read as many short stories as I’d like, and I love that the author is going to continue the story in longer form–that’s the best news when you love a short story.

I struggle with short stories. The cover is eerie.
