Nothing Is Real by Kevin J. Kennedy is a dark existential tale that will leave you feeling very strange, to say the least!
You know when you read a book and you absolutely love it, but then when you listen on audio, it’s a whole new experience? That’s exactly what happened to me with this one!
Let’s dive right in!
My Thoughts on the Audiobook of Nothing Is Real by Kevin J. Kennedy, narrated by Quinn Avery Joseph –
This is a story I had already read last year, but absolutely loved revisiting. The audiobook pulled me right back in. When I pressed play, I listened straight through!
The narrator, Quinn Avery Joseph, does an incredible job bringing the story to life. Their delivery cranks up the tension and atmosphere in ways I didn’t expect, as the storyline itself is already so intense as it weaves various monologues together.
Hearing it out loud made certain passages hit harder, too. I found myself latching on to many passages, but this one especially made me stop the audiobook and just sit there for a bit….
I was thinking about books I had read and movies that I had watched. Sometimes I wonder if the world is comprised of things that I created on previous tries. Imagine if you were everyone who exists at one point or another. What if you had painted your favorite painting when you were that particular artist in another lifetime?
This is a tale that will continuously surprise you with its hard hitters that leave you a bit shellshocked. There’s so much brutal honesty here that wind up feeling like your own thoughts!
My Final Thoughts on Nothing Is Real –
Already an eerie, mind-bending story on the page that is somehow even more unsettling when experienced through audio! Horror fans, you gotta check this out!
Thanks for reading!
