[Book Blogger Hop] Where I Post My Reviews

August 24, 2018      Erica Robyn      38 Comments

Book Blogger Hop

Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer, where you answer a question and join a “hop”. The purpose is to help bloggers discover and get to know one another.

For this week’s question, Elizabeth @ Silver’s Reviews asked:

Where do you post your reviews besides your blog? Please list them all so perhaps we can find some new sites.

My answer:
I post my reviews on a few different platforms:

  • Goodreads
  • Litsy
  • Amazon
  • BookThinkers
I will also post about books or share my review links and/or book photos on the following platforms:
  • Facebook (also on my personal page & in various bookish group pages)
  • Twitter
  • Instagram
  • Pinterest

Thanks for reading!
Where do you post your reviews? Is there a platform you use that you would recommend I check out?

Erica I've never heard of Book Thinkers, how is that and Litsy? Is it very much like Goodreads?

BookThinkers is a lot like Goodreads, but more… simple, if you will. I actually like it a lot better! The way that reviews are set up is interesting because you're forced to keep the review short. The one thing I don't like is the way the shelves are currently set up; I wish we were able to create different shelves like on Goodreads, but maybe they will implement that someday!

I LOVE Litsy!! It's my far my favorite bookish platform! It's like Goodreads and Instagram had a baby! 🙂

Book Thinkers is a new site to me. I post on Goodreads, Amazon, Librarything,Litsy (when I remember), Barnes & Noble, Dymocks and Twitter. I'm contemplating Instagram but haven't taken the plunge yet.

The downside of Bookthinkers is that they only have the mainstream books. No indie books listed. Or at least not the LGBTQ books I tried.

Mostly it's my blog and Goodreads. Eventually I'll get my reviews moved over to Amazon but that will take quite a while. The problem with Amazon is that their star reviews have a different meaning from Goodreads stars so I end up having to add a description of what my stars actually mean!

Yeah, that's a struggle! I've also heard of Amazon deleting some reviews if you didn't buy the item through their platform…

Book Thinkers is a new one to me… I'll have to check it out. I always post on GoodReads. Always. And I usually post on Amazon as well. Amazon has become some tricky about reviews, though. I hear about people haven't their reviews removed and even getting blocked. It's crazy.

I'm actually really bed at cross posting. I mean, I share some of my book reviews on Twitter, FB, or Pinterest, but actually copying and pasting my review? Yeah, not really. I need to do it more often though. I know it can help!

Within the PMM publishing house, they also have the imprint, Ghoulish Books, which launched in January of 2022. Max’s latest book, Maggots Screaming!, launched today April 12th, 2022 from that imprint. In celebration, I’m so excited to be sharing this interview with Max!

Diaries of the Damned by Ivan Radev is a collectio Diaries of the Damned by Ivan Radev is a collection of tales that span numerous dark fears. But as always, even in the darkness, there’s a bit of light.

In the foreword, the author warns that this is a book of fears, and boy does he play on fears wonderfully! Each tale is presented to readers in the first person to really get readers in the characters shoes. Please use caution here when you dive in. The author does not shy away from the darkness.

Phew, this read will take readers on quite the journey! It was the perfect read for a dark and rainy spring weekend.
