[Book Blogger Hop] What I Read During The Holidays

December 8, 2017      Erica Robyn      14 Comments

Book Blogger Hop

Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer, where you answer a question and join a “hop”. The purpose is to help bloggers discover and get to know one another.

For this week’s question, Maria @ A Night’s Dream of Books asks:

If you celebrate Christmas, do you feel the need to stop reading anything but Christmas-themed romances as the holiday season starts?

My answer:
I do indeed celebrate Christmas. I try to add as many holiday-themed books to my December TBR as I can, but they don’t have to be romances. Though I will admit, I am a total sucker for Hallmark-style cheesy holiday romances. 🙂

Thanks for reading!
If you’re also a fan of the cheesy Hallmark-style romances with absolutely NO erotica, I’d love to hear your recommendations in the comments section below!

I like to add a few Christmas type reads in during November and December but am not strict about it. I find as I get older, I love Christmas even more. We always make it a point to watch Peanuts, Rudolph and Frosty each season.

I don't normally read holiday-themed books, but I actually read a few this year – they weren't all romances, though. Pride, Prejudice, and Mistletoe was pretty cute!

We do watch a lot of cheesy Christmas movies, though – for some reason, my husband loves them!

Yay!! I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed it! A fellow blogger gifted a copy to me. I can't wait to dive in!

I just watched a cheesy hallmark-ish movie on Netflix called A Christmas Prince. It was super cute.

I am the same way! I hate heavy romance holiday reads but ones about family and community are the best. The cheesier and the Hallmark/Lifetime-y they are the better!!

Hi! I also celebrate Christmas and I enjoy reading holiday reads for sure! However, that isn't ALL I read in December. I tend to alternate a bit between my usual TBR and holiday romances/cozies. Plus, there tend to be plenty of shorter holiday stories or classics out there that help me reach my reading goal when I haven't quite gotten there…like this year. Oops! lol

I love Christmas! I just keep reading what I'm reading, because I'm so busy either working during the crazy holiday season, or shopping for gifts. I'll be lucky if I can finish the book in any capacity.

I don't think I've ever read a Christmas romance… if I see one on tv usually I end up making a MST3K style running commentary… XD

I originally learned who he was after seeing him participate in the KillerCon 2020 Virtual Event. I went to follow him and his publishing house, Perpetual Motion Machine (that he runs with Lori Michelle), immediately after his reading.

Within the PMM publishing house, they also have the imprint, Ghoulish Books, which launched in January of 2022. Max’s latest book, Maggots Screaming!, launched today April 12th, 2022 from that imprint. In celebration, I’m so excited to be sharing this interview with Max!

Diaries of the Damned by Ivan Radev is a collectio Diaries of the Damned by Ivan Radev is a collection of tales that span numerous dark fears. But as always, even in the darkness, there’s a bit of light.

In the foreword, the author warns that this is a book of fears, and boy does he play on fears wonderfully! Each tale is presented to readers in the first person to really get readers in the characters shoes. Please use caution here when you dive in. The author does not shy away from the darkness.

Phew, this read will take readers on quite the journey! It was the perfect read for a dark and rainy spring weekend.
