Scarecrow Slaughter by E.C. Hanson | Book Review

Scarecrow Slaughter by E.C. Hanson is a tale of brutal bloodshed, intense revenge, and other terrifying things that occur in a cornfield!

Let’s dive in!

My Thoughts on Scarecrow Slaughter by E.C. Hanson –

When a woman is murdered in a cornfield, the family that owns it doesn’t bat an eye. But when one of their own is also killed, they bring in the best gunslinger around to figure out who the killer is.

As more people meet horrible deaths, the gunslinger gets closer and closer to solving the case. But when he picks a suspect, even he can hardly believe it.

The dialogue in this tale is so perfect, that you can practically hear it! The level of impatience in many of the scenes was something I couldn’t help but chuckle at, even in the darker moments.

And while dark, there were also plenty of lighter elements. From the food description and the care seen between the couple, there’s also a lovely little focus on protecting women.

My Favorite Passage from Scarecrow Slaughter –

Scarecrows didn’t bother him, but this particular one got under his skin. A stay-away energy was palpable in the air.

My Final Thoughts on Scarecrow Slaughter –

This was such a fun slasher from start to finish! The opening was dark, fast-paced, and nerve-wracking! While things slowed down slightly after that, the bloodshed only got more intense!
