My Ninth Year Blogiversary!

January 2, 2026      Erica Robyn      5 Comments

Here we are again! Another year down, and another year closer to a big milestone! 🙂 Maybe next year I will actually post this on my actual blogiversary!

This year, I completed a ton of honest reviews, had some lessons learned (one difficult, one total duh-moment), hosted two interviews, attended one bookish event, and had so much fun!

Let’s dive in!

Stats:

  • This year, I had 49K page views on my blog and 29K from new visitors! Visits overall took a significant hit this year, which makes total sense given my decrease in blogging yet again this year and my step back from promoting other types of posts. Plus, ya know, the general state of the world…
  • My email subscriber count grew from 1,025 to 1,039.
  • My Facebook fan page follower count grew from 586 to 597.
  • My Instagram follower count grew from 1,655 to 1,660 followers.
  • My Bluesky following grew from 556 to 626.
  • Review requests completed this year: 36.
    • I wasn’t able to get to 10 requests yet, but I will make them a priority for the first few months of the new year!

My top three most popular posts from this year include:

  • My Favorite Book Quotes from 2024
  • BOREAL: An Anthology of Taiga Horror edited by Katherine Silva | Book Review
  • Cold Eternity by S.A. Barnes | Book Review

Interviews I hosted:

I had the chance to host two hilarious and amazing people this year, thanks to the amazing Kayleigh Dobbs!

  • Interview with Stephen Kozeniewski
  • Interview with Gavin Dillinger

Book Events:

WHAT?! Did I really only make it to one book event this year?! Welp, here we are:

  • Indie Bookstore Day 2025 | Book Event

What I’ve Learned:
You HAVE to cut people off –

Ugh. This year took quite a toll on me, as I’m sure it did on almost everyone. It was heart-shattering to see people who I had previously held in high regard fall to the toxicity of the current environment and actively promote really, really terrible people. I had previously been so quick to block and move on. But that was more difficult this year for some reason. The heartbreak every time I saw people posting another thing praising one of the many monsters out there… I just couldn’t take it anymore. And I’m not even talking politics here, I’m talking about people who have teased incest survivors and/or bullied others online repeatedly. Then, in more extreme cases, those who admire people who are literally convicted rapists and abusers. There were SO MANY people like that. It’s gross, and I’m done.

ANYWAY. On to a lighter note…

USE LIBBY –

It took me WAY too long to download the Libby app and connect my library card. I’m so glad that I did toward the end of the year. So far, I’ve been using it for audiobooks, and I love it so much! If you haven’t gotten this yet, you need to!

Shout-Outs:

I wanted to give a HUGE shout-out to the absolutely amazing authors and publishers who sent over review copies yet again this year, even knowing how much my reading has decreased over the last few years! I appreciate you all SO MUCH. Thank you again for your patience with me. <3

Thanks for reading!
And thank you for being here for yet another year! Cheers to great reads in 2026!

Congrats on your anniversary! I always appreciate your honest reviews and I know how hard it is to keep plugging away especially with the state of everything. As for terrible people? I tend to be a people pleaser to a point but now I’ve lost all patience and will block after one offensive thing. I learned that giving too many chances only causes me more grief in the end. I hope to make a Gibson’s event one of these days. There was a horror signing in Nashua, NH recently and I only learned about after the fact so I need to be better about keeping up. Anyhow, happy reading and happy new year!

Thank you so much!! <3 <3

100% on board with blocking for even small things. I'm a historical people pleaser as well and it's EXHAUSTING. Ah darn! I'll have to keep an eye out for Nashua events too. I've only been to one, but the author didn't end up being there, so that was a bummer haha

      Happy reading in 2026! <3
