The cover features a colorful, fantastical illustration of a female figure with glowing eyes and curved horns, holding something mysterious in her hands. Stars and swirling cosmic elements fill the background, giving the cover a magical and otherworldly feel. Graphic Novel Review of The Last Council (Amulet #4) by Kazu Kibuishi

The Last Council by Kazu Kibuishi is book number four in the Amulet series. Like the others in this series, I absolutely adored this volume.

Click the links below if you missed my reviews for the previous three books:

  • My review of Amulet #1: The Stonekeeper
  • My review of Amulet #2: The Stonekeeper’s Curse
  • My review of Amulet #3: The Cloud Searchers

Let’s dive in!

My Thoughts on The Last Council (Amulet #4) by Kazu Kibuishi

In this volume, things took quite a dark turn!

While we didn’t see Leon specifically training Emily here, she seems to have a better handle on her power. But not only does she had a better control, she also seems more powerful. I’m really looking forward to where this is going!

We got to meet a few new characters in this book. I’m hoping they will stick with the crew and help support Emily as she takes on the next task.

Per usual, Leon was there with his words of wisdom:

I was also really happy to see that the characters continued to support Emily, even after her “failure”:

Per usual, I just loved the artwork!

And of course I loved this scene:

My Final Thoughts on The Last Council

I can’t wait to dive into book 5!

Thanks for reading!

Wow, it seems like you're really enjoying this series. I managed to read the first one last year but never really continued. Maybe I should put some more on reserve at my library (which is actually closed until the 15th due to renovations – which stinks).

I sure am! I actually have the others waiting at the library for me! I've gotta venture out and pick them up today 🙂 Oh darn! Sorry to hear your local library is closed for a bit 🙁

I have another branch I can go to but it's not as convenient or as easy to reserve things so I guess I can't complain too much.

Ah yeah… I totally get it though. We have two local branches and the one I go to is MUCH more convenient.
