Now, let’s dive in to today’s prompt!
Books with Snow on the Cover
My Pick is An Unwanted Guest by Shari Lapena:

An Unwanted Guest by Shari Lapena is the perfect read for a cold snowy day! I could not put it down once I started reading.
An Unwanted Guest is a cozy murder mystery that centers around an interesting cast, all of whom have brought more than just their overnight packs of baggage with them…

I was round my parents’ house the other day and picked up a copy of ‘Winter in Madrid’ by C.J. Sansom. As soon as I read the blurb, I remembered that I’d read the book before and liked it. I often go through periods of accidentally reading books about the same topic, which is what I did with this one. At the time I’d read a lot about the Spanish Civil War so I was briefly an expert on the topic (I’ve forgotten most of it now unfortunately). This book is set in 1940 in the aftermath of the civil war. It tells the story of a traumatized Dunkirk veteran who is now a reluctant spy for the British Secret Service.

This one is on my TBR for December.
A Midnight Clear is a short story collection of “dark winter tales, destined to chill your bones and warm your heart for the Yuletide season.”
I love speculative fiction so I’m really looking forward to the read!

A Holiday by Gaslight by Mimi Matthews has just about one of the prettiest book covers I know! And it’s a beautiful story.
It’s a Victorian Christmas Romance that completely melted my heart. Sophie breaks off the courtship with Edward. She just can’t connect with him and believes they have nothing in common. However, Edward actually worships Sophie and tried to do everything right to impress her and win her over. Which completely backfired. But he’s getting a second chance when she invites him to her family’s estate for Christmas.

When I read this question the book that immediately came to mind was this one, All’s Fair by Jeffrey Cook and Katherine Perkins. It’s the last book in the Fair Folk Chronicles series, a YA urban fantasy saga along the same lines as a Rick Riordan series: an “average” young girl trying to fit in with “normal” people finds out that she’s the daughter of a real Fairy King–and there are enemies who are after her because of her connection to him, that she’s only just realizing! It’s a great romp, an adventure full of endearing characters and wonderful writing all the way through! Definitely recommended to anyone who loves Percy Jackson and the like!

It is that time of year! A book with snow on the cover definitely fits several Christmas books I am reading for a Harlequin Blog Tour on December 15. The most effective story I had read this season is Coming Home for Christmas by RaeAnne Thayne. This touching story deals with the aftermath of postpartum depression. Elizabeth left her husband and two children in order to protect her baby at that time. However, due to an accident, she was disfigured, lost her ability to speak and more, as well as her memory. With plastic surgery and time, her beauty was restored, as well as her memory. She chose not to go back home because she felt she couldn’t be a good mother and wife. Her husband Luke has found her and needs her to clear him as he is suspected of murdering her. Instead, she finds her way back to Luke and her two sons. This lovely story of love and forgiveness is one I will not soon forget.

I’m going with A Christmas Kiss (Kissed by the Bay Book 5) Kindle Edition by Susan Hatler for this one. I love Susan Hatler books and have read most of this series now.
About the book:
Harper Avery is a jaded divorce attorney who loves helping her clients move on to better things. After all, they’ve struggled enough being in an unhappy marriage. When one client’s soon-to-be ex-husband suddenly says he wants a second chance with his wife, Harper’s dubious, certain that her client is just going to get hurt again.
Despite his career as a divorce attorney, Gabriel Hart still believes that love can work miracles. Sure, there are no guarantees, but he totally supports his client’s efforts to reconcile with his wife—even if it means Gabriel has to go head-to-head with Harper to keep her from ruining the couple’s chances.
With the holidays approaching, husband and wife set out to see if they can work through their issues, while Harper decides to spend the long Christmas weekend at her friend’s cabin in Lake Tahoe. Only when she gets there, someone is already occupying her last-minute rental—Gabriel Hart. Both refuse to give up their holiday retreat. Will their adversarial working relationship make for a stressful weekend? Or will the magic of Christmas sprinkle them with a love that can beat the odds?
Follow the rest of the hop!
