A tablet lies on dry grass and surrounded by dandelions in a natural outdoor setting. The screen displays the cover of the book Everybody Is in the Place by Emma J. Gibbon. The cover features a colorful, fantastical illustration of a female figure with glowing eyes and curved horns, holding something mysterious in her hands. Stars and swirling cosmic elements fill the background, giving the cover a magical and otherworldly feel. The title text is in bold, colorful letters across the top and middle, with the author's name at the bottom.

[Blogging Event] Fall Bloggiesta 2017

September 25, 2017      Erica Robyn      8 Comments

This was my first year participating in the Bloggiesta. I already cannot wait until the next event!

Haven’t heard of the Bloggiesta? No worries! Click here to learn more!

Fall Bloggiesta 2017

My schedule has been absolutely insane lately, and I’ve been slacking a bit here on my blog. When I saw the dates for this event (Thursday September 21st through Sunday September 24th), I was really worried about time… but I just had to participate in this great event!

Incredibly, I managed to complete all five of my goals!

My Goals:

1. Set Up Mobile View
This is something that Blogger usually defaults. Unfortunately, when I did my last major redesign, the mobile option was turned off. During Bloggiesta I took the time to get it up and running again. Unfortunately, it doesn’t follow the main theme of my web-based blog, but that’s okay with me. At least it is up!

2. Revamp Honest Review Page
Phew, working on this page was long overdue! I am always SO incredibly thankful when an author reaches out to me for an honest review exchange, but I definitely needed to make my rules a bit more clear to avoid any negative situations.

3. Create About Me Page
I’m so pumped that I finally have this page up! Click here to check it out!

4. Update Review Archive
I admit it, I totally slack off when it comes to updating this page. I really do try to update it at least weekly, but I hadn’t gotten around to it for a few months this time. It’s up to date now! Maybe next year I will make a goal to split this list up into different categories.

5. Update My Favorite Bookish Accounts List
This was another update that I have been meaning to get to, but just keep pushing off. I follow SO many absolutely incredible bloggers, but this list is reserved for the accounts that I check daily (when my crazy schedule allows of course!).

The Bloggiesta Twitter Chat

During Bloggiesta, I also participated in the Twitter chat on Saturday and had a great time talking with:

  • Because Reading
  • Pages Unbound
  • Literary Apothecary
  • Poetry and Book Reviews of a Young Artist
  • The Ghastly Grimoire

Thanks for reading!
My question to you all: How do you organize your review archives?

Looks like you got a lot done. I love your "About Me" page and really need to set one up evetually. The Ghastly Grimoire has a great web page. I'll be checking it out some more!

I see you have an ABOUT ME section. You got a lot done…I missed the Twitter Chat. 🙁 I came in late and answered the questions.

I organize my review archives by date, but blogger adds them automatically into the list.

So glad you joined in and had fun, Erica.

Congrats on reaching all your goals!! I've never heard of Bloggiesta, but I'm going to participate next time!

I have an index page for my reviews, and I try to update the index when the review goes live. Since I only average 1 review a month, it's easier for me to keep it up to date.
