About Me

Erica Hatch
Hey there!

Thanks so much for navigating over to my About Me page! I'm Erica, a girl that runs on on hot tea, good books, and loud music. I'm an islander at heart and stereotypically Hufflepuff.

On this blog you will find book reviews from all kinds of genres ranging from Children's to Horror! You'll also find plenty of comic and graphic novel reviews, book tags, favorites lists, bookish discussions, blogger hops, and other bookish related things.

My favorite genres are horror, thriller/suspense, and mystery, and I am always looking for recommendations! So feel free to comment with your favorites in the comments section below!

To help flesh out this page, I asked my incredible followers to ask me some questions. If you have any questions you'd like to see answered here, feel free to ask in the comments section!

Without further ado, here is the Q&A!

Getting To Know Me Q&A

Q. Where are you from?
A. I was born and raised in Maine, and now live in New Hampshire.

Q. What is your favorite movie?
A. My all time favorite movie is The Nightmare Before Christmas. I can watch it over and over and over again without it getting old. My second favorite is The Emperors New Groove. Interestingly, those are followed very closely by The Boondock Saints and Jurassic Park.

Q. What is your favorite show?
A. For my favorite show of all time, I gotta go with Law and Order: Special Victims Unit. I love that I can just start watching whatever episode is playing on cable as a rerun and be drawn in right away! Someday I want to start re-watching them in order. But we'll see if that ever happens!

Q. What are your favorite beverages and snacks to consume while reading?
A. Fruit or cut up veggies are always my favorite snacks for reading because I tend to eat and not pay attention. I've put away multiple bags of Smartfood and Doritos when reading while snacking without realizing what was happening until the bag was empty... But I've also got a wicked sweet tooth and love snacking on a candy bar while reading from time to time! For beverages, I'm usually drinking tea, water, or seltzer water. Occasionally I'll sip on some wine, Seadog BluePaw beer, or a mixed drink while reading.

Q. What is your favourite color?
A. My default answer is purple, but it honestly changes all the time! Recently I've been hooked on mint green/tiffany blue.

Q. What are your hobbies?
A. I'm really into photography! I have a Facebook page and an Instagram account dedicated to my work. Feel free to check them out! I also enjoy binge watching Netflix, walking/jogging, attending wine tastings, hanging out with friends, and playing card and board games.

Q. What was the most recent book that made you stay up all night reading?
A. Here and Gone by Haylen Beck. This is an incredible thriller that I just could not put down!

Q. What are your pet peeves with reading?
A. Oh my gosh, I have many. One of the most frustrating is when there are stickers on book covers. No matter how "easy to remove" these places promise the stickers are, they're lying. I have shamelessly returned books from B&N after attempting to carefully remove the sticker only to rip the cover.

  1. My favourite film is The Nightmare Before Christmas, too - but that's no surprise since not only is it BRILLIANT but Halloween is my favourite holiday. :)
Have you read Chris Whitaker's 'Tall Oaks'? It's a bit of a genre blend and I LOVE it. Ditto all Jasper Fforde's 'Thursday Next' series.

    1. :-D Oh I have not, I will add those to my TBR! Thanks so much for stopping by!

  2. I absolutely hate stickers on books! But I am also a hypocrite because when I book fairy drop a book I put a sticker on the cover...who am I?!

  3. The Emperor's New Groove is EVERYTHING! I also hate stickers on books. I tend to rescue donated books from charity shops, so as you can imagine, they're covered in stickers. I haven't yet found a foolproof method to remove them and I'm sad about it a lot.

    1. It's just such a great film!! Gosh, I may need to watch it again tonight! haha :)

Ugh... stickers are the worst. I've found that spraying a little Goo Gone on a paper towel and slowly dabbing/peeling the sticker works most of the time... but it's always just so risky!

  4. Pleased to meet you! I'm a die-hard fan of the original Law & Order, but SVU has grown on me through the years. They're doing a fab job with spreading awareness about so many sensitive themes, from consent to transgenderism. Plus, the cast has always been excellent.
