[Book Blogger Hop] Entering A Bookstore Vs. Entering A Department Store

November 25, 2017      Erica Robyn      8 Comments

Book Blogger Hop

Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer, where you answer a question and join a “hop”. The purpose is to help bloggers discover and get to know one another.

For this week’s question, Maria @ A Night’s Dream of Books asks:

What’s your immediate feeling when entering a bookstore, as compared to how you feel when entering a department store?

My answer:
Oh!! This is a very interesting question!

When I go into department stores, I tend to immediately feel overwhelmed. That is especially the case when I haven’t been to that specific store location before, or if one of my favorites has changed. There is SO much that is always going on, that I tend to run in, get what I need, and run out.

When entering a bookstore, I feel excitement. I may still feel a bit overwhelmed, but it’s a happier overwhelmed simply because I want to look at everything! I have no problem taking my time wandering around and checking things out.

Thanks for reading!
Do you feel the same way when entering these two types of shops? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments section below!

I feel like my reaction to this question is so different to everyone else's, maybe because my bookstore is inside my department store, on base.

Have a great weekend. – Katie

I'm not a fan of department stores.

I feel peace when I enter a bookstore. In fact, I went to Barnes & Noble yesterday and a lot of my stress left me as soon as I walked into the store. I had such a good time just shopping. I wish I'd had more time to just walk around and look.
