Podcast Feature: The Laydown

April 14, 2021      Erica Robyn      7 Comments

The Laydown is a podcast hosted by booksellers from Gibson’s Bookstore in Concord, New Hampshire. On this show, the hosts rave about upcoming releases, chat with authors, and so much more!

Let’s dive in!

My Thoughts on The Laydown Podcast

I stumbled across the podcast on Twitter one afternoon and immediately cruised right through the first two episodes. Since then, I dive into each new episode as soon as I see a new one has launched each month.

This show is recorded with great quality and they cover awesome content! From books they’re looking forward to, to the books they’ve recently read and so much more. The hosts – Ryan, Hillary, and Kelso – are absolutely wonderful. I love that they each bring different books to the table, but that there is also plenty of crossover. One of my favorite things is when someone brings up a book they loved, and the other two immediately agree excitedly.

Every now and again, there are also wonderful author interviews with amazing authors such as Hank Greene, Erin Morgenstern, Paul Tremblay, and more.

I also think it’s also really nice to listen to something with a local twist as I live only 20 minutes away from Concord where the bookstore where this crew works is located.

I’m so excited to hear more from the hosts of The Laydown in the future! If you haven’t yet checked this one out, I highly recommend it!

I haven’t listened to any podcasts before except for a single episode on mental health by a rapper I really like. I’ve been thinking about checking out some bookish podcasts and giving them a try!

This is a fun one! I’d also recommend the Book Riot podcast for general book news! 🙂

Sounds like a fun podcast. I do like book focused ones because I can understand the excitement.
