If you love a story with a good meet-cute, a creepy vibe, and some tough family dynamics, Night’s Edge by Liz Kerin might be right up your alley!

Content Warnings: Addiction, blood, child abuse, domestic violence, gun violence, and more.

Let’s dive in!

My Thoughts on Night’s Edge by Liz Kerin –

This story follows Mia, a woman who is trapped by a dark family secret that forces her to push others away. But one day, she meets a barista, and things start to change.

Mia, the main character, is someone you can’t help but feel for. She’s got a lot of baggage, and her emotional journey was the key focus of the story. She’s kind of a mystery, which worked for the plot, but I just wanted a bit more from her in some places. Though as the story jumps back and forth between when Isla was ten and the present day, you slowly learn more about what really happened, and the other terrifying things she’s had to survive.

The story has this constant eerie vibe because, as the reader, you already know the huge secret Isla is hiding. Even the most everyday moments felt tense and unsettling because of it.

I listened to this one on audio and had a blast! Unfortunately, as I was usually doing other things while listening, I didn’t write down my favorite passages.

My Final Thoughts on Night’s Edge –

Night’s Edge is a cool mix of everyday life, suspense, and a touch of the supernatural. It’s not a fast-paced, action-packed thriller, but if you like books that build the tension and leave you feeling terrible for the main character, this is definitely worth reading.
