My Dream Loot Crate

May 4, 2017      Erica Robyn      4 Comments

My dream loot crate

So, full disclosure here… I have never actually subscribed to a monthly box from any company. I just can’t personally justify paying the price for a box of things that I may or may not like at this point in my life. I do love bookish themed goodies! But I’m very OCD when it comes to clutter and organizing our small town house. Perhaps one day, when our budget allows, I will give a subscription box a try. We shall see!

Of course I have watched many unboxings here and there on YouTube. But to be totally honest, I stopped watching the videos a while back after realizing that I just didn’t really care about them. The only time I will watch an unboxing now, is when the YouTuber gives the theme of the box right in the video title, and this theme is something that actually interests me.

However, there are two unboxing videos that I watched months ago that have really stuck in my mind.

These videos include:

  • Hailey In Bookend’s November OwlCrate Unboxing, which was a Wonderland theme.
  • ChapterStackss’ Nocturnal Reader’s Box Unboxing, which had an awesome horror theme.

How lovely are those?! I would have definitely wanted to snag those two boxes if they were still available!

My Dream Loot Crate

So, without further delay… here is my Dream Nautical Themed Loot Crate!

Cliffs of Insanity Frostbeard Soy Candle
I have one candle from Frostbeard and I am so in love with it! I haven’t yet lit the candle because the scent from the open candle just sitting there on our shelf is still so lovely! This Cliffs of Insanity candle smells like sea mist and Caribbean teakwood. Sign me up!
Moby-Dick Women’s T-Shirt from Out Of Print
I mean, come on. How pretty is that whale?! I would definitely wear this t-shirt! There is also a version for dudes on the Out Of Print website, here.
Miami Multi-Colored Mirrored Sunglasses from Sunglass Warehouse
You can’t have a beach themed crate without a nice pair of new sunglasses! I love this pair SO much. I will definitely be on the lookout for a pair like this when I am out shopping.
Beach Day Iced Tea from New Moon Tea Co.
A beach day (or a day on your back porch or in your apartment, imagining you are at the beach) just isn’t complete without a nice cool glass of iced tea! This Beach Day blend is an Organic herbal blend of Green Tea, Ginger, Dandelion, Lemon Peel, and Goji Berry. Yum!
Conch Shell
A conch shell or any type of shell would be a nice little addition to this crate! 🙂 Or perhaps just some tissue paper with shells printed on it.
Safe Haven by Nicholas Sparks
I’m not really a Nicholas Sparks fan… But when this book was gifted to me, I read through it in just one day. It’s a cute and suspenseful story based in a small coastal town in North Carolina called Southport. I think this would be an excellent beach read that any would be thrilled to get in their subscription box!
HP Lovecraft Book Purse from KrukruStudioBooks
This is clearly one of the larger sizes, so it is quite pricey… but not worrying about budget for this crate, how incredible would it be to open up a box to find that stunning book bag?! I haven’t read this particular book, but I love the color scheme and the octopus leg design! I highly recommend checking out the KrukruStudioBooks Etsy shop to see all of the lovely options!

Thanks for reading!
If you were to pick a theme for your dream subscription crate, what theme would you choose?

I love this post. Hmmm… If I could choose a theme, it would be one about the runaway book lover. I would include a cozy mystery about a bookstore, a candle with a new book scent, Earl Grey tea bags, a mug from Book Riot (the one with the library checkout list), a mixtape of Harry Potter music, and a valise (any design, prefer something Hermione would carry).

    That was fun!

I really want to do this soon! It looks like so much fun. I am worried it'll make me want all the bookish merchandise though haha! Great picks Erica! I feel like if I saw any of these in a store they'd remind me of you.

It was a TON of fun!! Narrowing down my ideas to one specific topic was incredibly difficult though!

I originally learned who he was after seeing him participate in the KillerCon 2020 Virtual Event. I went to follow him and his publishing house, Perpetual Motion Machine (that he runs with Lori Michelle), immediately after his reading.

Within the PMM publishing house, they also have the imprint, Ghoulish Books, which launched in January of 2022. Max’s latest book, Maggots Screaming!, launched today April 12th, 2022 from that imprint. In celebration, I’m so excited to be sharing this interview with Max!

Diaries of the Damned by Ivan Radev is a collectio Diaries of the Damned by Ivan Radev is a collection of tales that span numerous dark fears. But as always, even in the darkness, there’s a bit of light.

In the foreword, the author warns that this is a book of fears, and boy does he play on fears wonderfully! Each tale is presented to readers in the first person to really get readers in the characters shoes. Please use caution here when you dive in. The author does not shy away from the darkness.

Phew, this read will take readers on quite the journey! It was the perfect read for a dark and rainy spring weekend.
