Samurai Slasher - Late Fees Comic photo

Samurai Slasher – Late Fees is a powerful comic about facing the monsters of life.

This comic was sent to me when I ordered the two Our Final Halloween comics that are out so far. So shout-out again to Mike Garley for that! 🙂

Let’s dive in!

My Thoughts on Samurai Slasher – Late Fees

This comic was written by Mike Garley, art by Lukasz Kowalczuk, colors and letters by Lukasz Mazur.

I am very grateful that I was able to snag one of the limited edition copies!

As a boy, our main character is introduced to his first horror movie.

After watching the film, he is able to see life through a lens that allows him to imagine battling literal monsters as a samurai.

But these monsters… they’re real. And they’re after his dad.

As the boy grows up, he realizes that he needs to make a very difficult decision for himself as well as his wife and child…

In just a very short amount of time, these characters really came to life. We had the young boy trying to grow up in a difficult family situation and a father trying to continue to bond with his kid while battling his inner demons. I really felt for both of them!

It’s not easy leaving people behind, especially family. Seeing the things they had to go through was absolutely heartbreaking. The things that unfold over the course of this comic packs such an emotional punch.

The tale was wonderfully organized and the artwork was beautiful! I highly recommend checking this one out!
