[Book Tag] Do I Have That Book?

April 6, 2019      Erica Robyn      16 Comments

I saw this book tag/scavenger hunt on Confessions of a Serial Reader and just had to take part immediately!

Click here to check out the Youtube video from Keeping Tabs, who created this challenge.

The rules:

  1. Time yourself trying to find each prompt on your shelf.
  2. Try and beat the time of the person who challenged you.
  3. Don’t forget to tag your challenger and the original creator.
  4. Have fun!

Elnade had books for 17 of the 20 questions. She also counted the books that she hadn’t read yet, which was 7.

Let’s see how I do!

The Do I Have That Book Tag

Do you have a book with deckled edges?
I have so many! I love deckled edges. The one that I spotted first was The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket. I’ve read this book many times.

Do you have a book with 3 or more people on the cover?
Yes! We Were Liars. Elnade also chose this book, so it was already top of mind for me. Is that cheating? 🙂 I’ve read this book three times.

Do you have a book based on another fictional story?
To Be Or Not To Be by Ryan North, a book based on Hamlet. This book is one that I have not read yet, but I cannot wait! It’s a A Chooseable-Path Adventure.

Do you have a book with a title 10 letters long?
A Map Of Days by Ransom Riggs. I haven’t read this one yet. I am waiting to reread the other three first before diving into this one.

Do you have a book with a title that starts and ends with the same letter?
Armada by Ernest Cline. I still need to read this one!

Do you have a Mass Market Paperback book?
Pet Sematary by Stephen King- Just picked this one up at Target today! I haven’t read it yet, but plan to before I see the new film!

Do you have a book written by an author using a pen name?
Binary by John Lange, a pen name of Michael Crichton. I have not yet read this one.

Do you have a book with a character’s name in the title?
Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe by Benjamin Alire Sáenz. I ADORE this book!

Do you have a book with 2 maps in it?
Oh lord… I have NO idea. As much as I’d love to find out, I didn’t want to tear my shelves apart to find out.

Do you have a book that was turned into a TV show?
Using a comic collection for this one: The Walking Dead!

Do you have a book written by someone who is originally famous for something else? (celebrity/athlete/politician/tv personality…)
Bird Box by Josh Malerman. Josh is a musician; he’s the singer/songwriter of the rock band, The High Strung.

Do you have a book with a clock on the cover?
The Time Keeper by Mitch Albom. I’ve not yet read this one.

Do you have a poetry book?
Does Gmorning, Gnight!: Little Pep Talks for Me & You by Lin-Manuel Miranda count? If so, then yes!

Do you have a book with an award stamp on it?
The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller. I have not read this one yet.

Do you have a book written by an author with the same initials as you?
I do not. I knew I didn’t have this one, as it was a reading prompt for a challenge I did awhile back and I only have a couple of book with authors with names that start with the letter E. However, I double checked to see if I had any E.M.’s with my name change. Still negative.

Do you have a book of short stories?
Many! Such as Collected Easter Horror Shorts by Kevin J Kennedy. I highly recommend all of his short story collections!

Do you have a book that is between 500-510 pages long?
This prompt took me the longest. I came close! I had a 512, but nothing between 500 and 510.

Do you have a book that was turned into a movie?
Horns by Joe Hill. This movie was quite odd, but so good! Daniel Radcliffe did a wonderful job!

Do you have a graphic novel?
MANY! One example is The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina “The Crucible”. I love this graphic novel! I need to reread it soon.

Do you have a book written by 2 or more authors?
Screechers by Kevin J Kennedy and Christina Bergling. Another I highly recommend if you enjoy horror novellas!

My Scavenger Hunt Results

I had books for 17/20 questions, so Elnade and I tied there! Also taking the inspiration from her, 7 of these books I have yet to read WHICH IS ALSO A TIE!

After getting my blog template ready with all the blank questions, I started the clock. When I typed up my last answer in, I stopped the clock. My time was 19 minutes and 44 sections. Phew! If I had taken the time to look for a book with two maps, it would have easily doubled that time.

This tag was so much fun! I highly recommend taking part if you’re interested! 🙂 I’d love to see your results!

What a fun tag. Some of these questions are hard for finding books when you’re in a time crunch.

This seems like a fun tag! I love deckled edges too, although I only have one book with them. I didn’t know Josh Malerman is a musician, that’s interesting!

Fun book tag! I would have a lot of trouble coming up with titles, my books are scattered over several rooms and closets 🙂
