[Book Photo Sunday] Books I’m Thankful For

November 25, 2018      Erica Robyn      24 Comments

Book Photo Sundays is hosted by Ronyell of Rabbit Ears Book Blog. The purpose is simply to give readers the chance to showcase photos of your books, bookshelves, and other bookish things and share with a like-minded crowd. The hashtag for the overall event is #bookphotosundays.

On this week’s edition of Book Photo Sundays, I’m showing off some books that I am thankful for!
Let’s dive in!

Books That I Am Thankful For

Each of the books in the photo above have either shaped me as a reader, helped out at a tough time, or opened me up to different genres. Of course, some are a combination of those things!
The list:
  • The Walking Dead
  • Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton
  • Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling
  • The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon
  • Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk
  • On Living by Kerry Egan
  • Heart Shaped Box by Joe Hill
  • The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay
  • The Bad Beginning by Lemony Snicket
  • Harvest by Tess Gerritsen

Thanks for checking out this post!
Are you thankful for any of the books that made my list?

Love this! I'm also grateful for the Harry Potter series– it was so much of my childhood and inspired me for years to come.

Definitely The Walking Dead and Heart Shaped Box! Great list. I guess I'm just thankful for books (and libraries) in general.

Harry Potter for sure, and Chuck Palahniuk too, though my favorite by him is Survivor.

I like that this is such an eclectic group of books. The only one that I have read is the Joe Hill title and it was years ago.

I love the Fight club movie and I tried so hard to read the book as well. But I couldn't do it at all. I am so envious that it is on your top list!

I originally learned who he was after seeing him participate in the KillerCon 2020 Virtual Event. I went to follow him and his publishing house, Perpetual Motion Machine (that he runs with Lori Michelle), immediately after his reading.

Within the PMM publishing house, they also have the imprint, Ghoulish Books, which launched in January of 2022. Max’s latest book, Maggots Screaming!, launched today April 12th, 2022 from that imprint. In celebration, I’m so excited to be sharing this interview with Max!

Diaries of the Damned by Ivan Radev is a collectio Diaries of the Damned by Ivan Radev is a collection of tales that span numerous dark fears. But as always, even in the darkness, there’s a bit of light.

In the foreword, the author warns that this is a book of fears, and boy does he play on fears wonderfully! Each tale is presented to readers in the first person to really get readers in the characters shoes. Please use caution here when you dive in. The author does not shy away from the darkness.

Phew, this read will take readers on quite the journey! It was the perfect read for a dark and rainy spring weekend.
