[Book Blogger Hop] First Edition Wishes

Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer, where you answer a question and join a "hop". The purpose is to help bloggers discover and get to know one another.

For this week's question, Billy @ Coffee Addicted Writer asked:

If you could travel back in time to purchase the first printing of a specific novel, what book would that be?

My answer:
What a fun question! I would love to go back in time to snag a first edition of The Hobbit! The original book design is so lovely.

Thanks for reading!
If you could acquire a first edition, which would you pick?

  1. I reckon Harry Potter! I'd love to have grown up with those books as a kid but I was already out of college when they came out sadly! I'd still have loved to discover them at the time though.

  2. Probably the first Harry Potter book. Though, going way back, anything by Oscar Wilde.

  3. That's a cool choice. I must confess I don't even know what the original looks like (although it's probably on Goodreads, huh.) Hope you have a great weekend. - Katie

  4. Ahh this is such a lovely article!! And your question is great! I think I'd go with a 1st edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone! But I'd also really love to have a 1st classic edition of Pride & Prejudice for example.
