[Book Blogger Hop] Changing Older Posts

Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Ramblings of a Coffee Addicted Writer, where you answer a question and join a "hop". The purpose is to help bloggers discover and get to know one another.

For this week's question, Elizabeth @ Silver's Reviews asks:
Do you ever go back to older posts and change things?

My answer:
When I first started blogging, I just couldn't decide on how I wanted to format things. Because of that, I kept having new ideas that I wanted to implement, so I would go back and update all previous blog posts. This happened many times in the first few months that I was running this blog.

However, now that I am more solid with my formatting, I very rarely go back and change things. The only three exceptions are when:
  1. I spot a typo,
  2. A Bloggiesta event calls for it,
  3. When I re-read a book I have previously blogged about.
I actually have a post coming out on February third where I discuss my most recent blog changes, so stay tuned for that! :)

Thanks for reading!
I'd love to hear your response to Elizabeth's question! Feel free to comment below or share your BBH link.

  1. I actually never go back and reformat. I try way too many things - new HTML, new CSS, etc.

  2. I have been blogging for a while (five years give or take a little) so going back and reformatting all of my posts is just not practical for me. As a blogger, I have come to terms with the fact that my formatting and writing style will change and that it okay. I like to think of changing as an evolution for my blog. However, there are still some cringe-worthy posts from back in the day, but that is still part of who I am as a blogger. I have gone back and edited some things, like deleting old tags and changing the text from an awful bright pink text that I mistakenly thought was a good idea at the time. Other than that, I try not to worry about it too much. Plus, I am just a little bit lazy...

  3. Sometimes, but not all the time. To be honest, I really should because some of the featured images I have could be used against me for copyright issues. Writing-wise, I don't look back on my posts for that, because my writing back in 2014-2015 was so cheesy!! I like how I can see how much I've grown and explored more with the blog itself. But reading my own past work gives me such a weird feeling. My BBH -

  4. Seeing typos on old posts makes me so upset!! I'm immediately like “oh God everyone who has read this MUST HAVE seen this typo!!” Even if most people probably didn’t notice/care haha. Our answers are super similar :)

  5. I go back sometimes if I feel like I can make the post better, or this last round of blog revamping I changed the images on my blog roll to match.

    1. That's great!! I'ma total sucker for blogs with great imagery!
